Description
Elemi is a gum produced by a tree of the Canarium family, which is cultivated in a specific region of the Philippines, south of Manila. Between July and November, incisions are made in the trunk and a thin strip of bark is removed every day. The gum is then gathered once per week. It takes about seven years for a tree to start producing abundant quantities of gum.
