Description

The Echinacea genus comprises nine species of plants native to North America. Purpurea, angustifolia and pallida are the three best-known species due to their use in herbal medicine. Growing to a height of about one meter, they produce yellow, pink or white flowers. The stems, flowers and rhizomes contain substances that can stimulate the immune response, making coneflower valuable as a medicinal plant.
