Description

Native to the Mediterranean Basin, Matricaria chamomilla, or German chamomile, is a member of the Asteraceae family. Now found all across Europe, mostly growing wild, it has been used as a medicinal plant since ancient times. It is not to be confused with two other plants also called chamomile: feverfew or “chamomile daisy” (Tanacetum parthenium) and Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile).
