A sacred tree native to the Orient, the ginkgo is a member of the Ginkgoaceae family. It is the only living representative of this botanical family, which first emerged 300 million years ago. Blessed with great vitality, the species has withstood many natural catastrophes. It is often called “the thousand-crown tree” for the golden color of its leaves that carpet the ground in the autumn.
