Description

Oregano is a species of herbaceous perennial plant belonging to the Lamiaceae family. Originally native to Europe and later exported to the Middle East, it has been recognized since ancient times for its strong flavor and medicinal properties. The species is also known as wild marjoram and is sometimes confused with marjoram (Oreganoum majorana).
