The Bulgarian farm of our parent company Biolandes, and its corresponding production site, is located in the province of Stara Zagora, near Kazanlak, in the “Rose Valley”. This well-preserved region is naturally and culturally conducive to growing plants, particularly aromatic plants.
Our facilities include a dozen stills and several extractors used to process the raw materials that we grow on-site or gather from the environs. Damask roses were grown first. They flourish on almost 100 hectares of land, producing about 400 tonnes of flowers per year. A few years later, organic/NOP-compliant lavender plants were added. These now cover 60 hectares. During the rose picking season, about 1,000 seasonal workers join the 20 permanent employees.
