Origin

Pistacia lentiscus is an evergreen shrub related to the pistachio tree. It is also called mastic (“lentisque” in French) because of its resin. Traditionally harvested in Greece, it has been used in medicine and as a flavoring agent.

The lentisque (mastic) used is harvested in the forests of the Rif region of northern Morocco. We practice sustainable harvesting in order to preserve the resource: only a few branches are taken from each plant to produce this oil.
