Scots pine is a resinous tree belonging to the Pinaceae family, native to central and northern Europe and northern Asia. It is also found in eastern Siberia and in the mountains of the northern Middle East. It is a species with a wide ecological and climatic range. Pinus sylvestris essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the needles.
