Description

Celery is a biennial herbaceous plant of the Apiaceae family. Growing wild in Europe, around the Mediterranean and in the western Himalayan region, it is also cultivated for its stalks and tuberous root, which are eaten as vegetables. In temperate countries, celery is also cultivated for its seeds, which yield an essential oil used in perfumery and the pharmaceuticals industry.
